Prairie Creek Senior Apartments and Townhomes is gem property in the picturesque village of McFarland. Northpointe was honored to work alongside the Village of McFarland neighbors to provide the first new senior affordable housing in the community since the mid-1980’s. Prairie Creek consists of 37 senior one and two-bed apartments and 12 three-bedroom townhomes for households of all ages. Residents enjoy stunning views of the nearby prairies and wetlands amidst a winding neighborhood walking path. The property offers a well-appointed Community Room, Fitness Center, underground parking, and a covered outdoor patio and grill to enjoy the breath-taking surrounding views. The units are warm yet updated and embody the quiet and calm feel of the surrounding community.
Challenging Times
Prairie Creek began construction in the winter of 2021. This timing presented challenges due to ongoing pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and rising construction costs. In a time that many developments were stalled due to this climate, Northpointe was dedicated to moving the project forward and forged a path ahead with the help of their equally determined financial supporters. These financiers included the Village of McFarland, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, WHEDA, tax credit investors, and Dane County Affordable Housing Funds.
